The PhD School and CME invite all PhD students within the discipline of jurisprudence to a course on
Economic theories in competition law
Competition law are governed by a number of theories of an economic nature, e.g., regarding possible theories of harms and how undertakings interact. While some are firmly rooted in theory and practice others are not and lawyers thus need to be aware of these limitations when applying economic theories and submissions.
CME, Centre for Market Economics, at the Faculty of Law/University of Copenhagen intends to setup a three day summer school in July introducing PhD students and postdoc fellows to economic thinking and instruments as applied in competition law. Through an introduction the course strives to establish a better understanding of the potentials and limitations of economic models and assumptions, hopefully facilitating better research in the long run. Moreover, while focusing on competition law, the course holds much broader relevance by covering many of the basic assumptions about how companies interact with the market.
